    The results of the voluntary questions on sexual orientation and gender identity in the 2021 Census for England and Wales were published a week ago.

    It shows 28,000 (0.06%) of respondents described themselves as asexual.

    The figures for Scotland and Northern Ireland will be published later in the year.

    Now I’d like to think we make up more than 0.06% of the population, but at least there’s now some recognition that we do actually exist!
