I avoid refined sugars except for a little maple syrup sometimes in baking. But i definitely eat carbs and fruits, which i think is important to me, having running as a hobby. two ways that refined sugar affected me were rheumatism in my joints and numbing my taste buds to the more subtle sweetness in other foods, so i don’t miss that sugar at all 🙂
