- About me
The name’s Rachel, I’m 18 and Canadian. Currently a Liberal Arts student in college.
Admittedly, I’m a bit of a weirdo. I’m a history enthusiast, a foodie, a huge fan of candy shops and thrift stores, and a voracious reader. I’m also a ”third culture kid”, if you may (just message me, I’ll tell you all about it!). A bit more about my life, should you be at all interested… I was born in the United States, spent several years of my childhood in China then moved to Canada. My dad’s Jewish-American whilst my mother is Sri Lankan (this certainly makes for a fantastic blend of cultures within my home). I grew up in an extremely multicultural environment – I have fond memories of traveling in overnight trains throughout China, backpacking around East Asia at the tender age of 6 and driving through the Australian outback. I’ve been exposed to so much of what this fascinating world has to offer, I guess I am naturally inclined to want to know more.
Interests: Horror/mystery films, baking and cooking, learning foreign languages, literature, vintage fashion and clothing, classic/psychedelic/glam rock, poetry, old TV shows (I LOVE The Twilight Zone and Night Gallery), anthropology, history, cinema (I have a particular appreciation for Hitchcock, Dolan and Villeneuve!) and politics.
Some of my favorite music: Phil Ochs, Santana, Simon and Garfunkel, The Cure, Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix, Juan Luis Guerra, The Youngbloods, Crosby, Stills & Nash, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Cat Stevens, George Harrison, The Pixies.
