- Things I am looking for in a person are:
I’ve always been comfortable being alone, but wondered if there’s someone out there who shares a lot of the same interests, beliefs, and dreams? Wouldn’t it be so much better to do sportsing, be adventuring, travellairing, and just overanalysing media on the sofa with someone who also loves those things? Probably! Im also happy to chat about whatever no matter the distance here or on other ace*spaces (same name on ace-book, rcnichol on Insta)
I click best with sporty/outdoorsy people as I like to get outside every day (not a fan of rain, but do have all the rain gear if adventure calls!). Hikes, bike rides (country roads and trails), paddling on lazy rivers and calm lakes, cross country skiing in winter. I’d love my future partner to be into all these things and share with me some of their favourite sports/activities. If you played a varsity/club sport – even better, if you coach or referee! – we totally have to chat!
I appreciate people who like to learn/discover new things. From visiting museums to crafting/making/building to road trips (have never had a car karaoke partner but practice every time I drive). When I travel, I want to see all the things until the sun goes down and not lounge in one spot.
In short, an intelligent, curious, and energetic adventure partner (who also loves a good book/movie) is who I’m looking for.
- About me
I’m a former English teacher turned librarian, and have been a rugby coach even longer. Talk about spanning the spectrum from geek to jock, eh? I’ve been called by many ”not of this time” or that I was ”born in the wrong era”. I love history, old movies and music, would love for someone to teach me swing dancing, but have very progressive views on most things. I’m definitely a ’greenie’ who rides his bike more than he drives and am a humanist who tries to make the world better through kind acts and education.
Being a librarian pays the bills, and I love it, though I aspire to be a part-time homesteader / creative type who can lead a ’slow’ life far enough into the country that I can see the stars at night, but close enough to a town or small city to enjoy all the benefits it offers. Writing a novel or two is on that list, but I’d need a good editor to help me avoid run-on sentences!
